Camber in a longboard that I am building?
Just recently i started making a longboard deck with my Dad. he believes that camber in a longboard is wrong and it will feel like standing on a basketball. What he won’t let me explain to him is that camber is what all of the longboard are using the design i chose to build (loaded vanguard design) have a camber. I am using two plys of 1/4″ Baltic Birch and fiberglass on the bottom. Correct me but I’m pretty sure camber is what you need for a design like that. Thank You
camber is a good thing for carving, pumping, cruising, and the like, but it will make your board less stable at speed. so i would recommend light camber, but don’t go to far overboard.
