Why is my baby pacman frog not eating ? Please help!?
I bought my baby pacman frog last monday and he still hasnt eaten anything. he’s pretty small, only about 2 inches, i’ve given him crickets but he hasnt touched one. the temperaure inside his terraium is fine but i dont know wh he hasnt eaten at all.Im looking for any suggestions or help.
An acclimation period of two weeks is not only to isolate the animal from any handling, but also to allow it to get used to the tank. In the meantime, it may not show any signs of proper health, and it is not at all uncommon not to see them eat. In addition, only voraciously starved animals will immediately jump on food once it is deposited in the tank. If this is not the case, it could be:
-Improper humidity. Make sure it’s moist enough for your animal to breath. Humidity should be preferably around 70%.
-Wrong size of cricket. People who are new to the care of these animals think that any size cricket will work. However, you should not use any crickets larger than the width of the animal’s head. Most petstores do have smaller crickets, they just don’t openly advertise it or put them out in public view. You have to usually ask for small/pinhead crickets, as these are the smallest you can get. If you go to a specialty reptile store, you may be able to find multiple sizes of pinheads.
