Hot Knife

The Day Of The Firefighter

While the flames grew higher and hotter he knew the job that he had to do would be a hard one. However, he dove headlong into the burning flames pulling his trusted hose beside of him his partner at the doorway pulling more into the house for him. The fire was hot, but he did not feel the heat because of the high quality gear that protected him.

The flames crept slowly around behind him leaving him to wonder how his escape would be coming to him. However, that worry was quickly replaced by the heat increase towards his front and in the kitchen. He looked at the blazing table and see then wusthof knife set he had been sent in to find. He cracked open the nozzle and felt the hose jump in his hands as water sprayed out and put a quench on the flames that had consumed the first of his goals.

He looked over at the island and spied the henckels knife set that he was supposed to find also. He quickly grabbed the item and started feeling back towards the hose that was behind his back. Feeling that reassured him that he was going to be able to make it back out. As the flames grew stronger and banked down to the floor he turned and started following the hose out of the room leaving the nozzle behind and open.

Time was starting to run short for him as he heard the boards starting to crack. That meant the building was becoming unstable and could come down on him at any time. He started to scramble towards the exit of the kitchen as he heard more of the boards giving into the weight.

He felt for the hose and found it while he hurried back out of the kitchen to the safety of the doorway. He could see it and started to here the horns blowing warning everyone to get out of the building. As he scrambled towards the hose he felt it in his hands and readjusted his grip on the knife sets that he had and headed for the entrance as quickly as he could.

The doorway was in reach, but he felt the floor start sagging under the weight of him and his equipment. He made a leap of faith of of the door and could hear people applauding him as the flames rolled up around him the building crumbling down on itself. He looked down and seen that his package was still safe.

As he regained his footing he walked over to the owner and handed her the prized possession that she wanted so bad. As she looked up at him with the tears rolling down her cheeks she gave him a hug for the effort that he had put forth. He looked over and seen his partner giving him the thumbs up sign and they knew they had done a great job.

Pieces of You

Pieces of You

$2.02

Jewel’s debut album, Pieces of You, reveals a special voice–strong and focused on both the whispery verses and the hooky choruses. The recording also exposes an unfortunate tendency to present trite, hackneyed sentiments as if they were oracular visions from a young prophet to a jaded world. For the most part, Jewel sings to her own acoustic guitar accompaniment, but she has a lot more in common …

Amnesiac

Amnesiac

$5.59

More song-driven and acoustic than Kid A, Radiohead’s Amnesiac isn’t quite “Kid B,” but it is unquestionably cut from the same far-out cloth, as the band revels in fascinating quirks and abject nihilism. It’s also the first time in Radiohead’s career that a new record hasn’t meant a complete shift in artistic priorities. Surely, however, regardless of which was released first, they both deserve re…

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Full Screen Edition)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Full Screen Edition)

$2.14

Mixed reviews and creepy comparisons to Michael Jackson notwithstanding, Tim Burton’s splendidly imaginative adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would almost surely meet with Roald Dahl’s approval. The celebrated author of darkly offbeat children’s books vehemently disapproved of 1971′s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (hence the change in title), so it’s only fitting that Burton …
