Will epoxy hold down a piece of wood to concrete?
I am putting in a closet center guide on the floor and I cannot get it to work. I tried a masonry drill but i kept hitting something and it wouldnt drill any farther. Will epoxy hold down the piece of wood to the foundation so that i can screw the guide into that?
i tried using a nail gun but it just split the wood.
Yes, an Epoxy Resin (2 part) will work very well.
Make very sure you buy the Epoxy Resin, and not the usual standard Epoxy.
Just make sure everything is as clean as possible before beginning. Most of the 2 part resins you need can be found, ready to use, at virtually any hardware store.
Epoxy resin injection with any industry standard 2:1 injection is the only way of assuring quality job.Single component caulking guns, pressure pots, or similar batching equipment are not suitable for injection or for your project.
A 450 ml binary injection system is best. This uses a binary caulking gun and static mix tubes to inject this resin.
Limit pressures to 40 p.s.i for most applications. Excessive pressures can create additional stressing of the concrete and wood. It can also cause hydraulic lifting. Low pressures allow gradual resin flow into the space for deeper and more thorough penetration. On vertical places, start at the lowest point, and continue upward on the area. While injecting the lowest port, resin will flow to and out of the next higher place.
