How can I select a Break Cue (pool)?

I played pool with a 19oz pool cue and now I’d love to get a long-time break cue for myself but I wonder how heavy the break cue would fit me well, any ideas? I used to have a 18.5oz break cue but it seems that it’s a bit lighter… Thanks.

The thing about weight VS speed basically boils down to this.

You want to use the most weight that you can generate the most speed with. You are going to be able to get the most speed with a lighter cue, but you also want something behind it. Like throwing a baseball, to a wifle ball. Yes the wifle ball is lighter, but without the weight it will lose the kinetic energy faster and not go as far or with as much power.

The best answer though to pretty much any question about cues is, what ever works best for you. I shoot and break with an 18oz break cue and an 18.25 oz shooting cue, but that is what I like… Everyone is different. Good luck!
