How would I find a brass bar that goes across a business door that allows patrons to push on it?
I’m looking for a solid brass bar that hangs horizontally (so it looks kind of like a towel rack) across the center of a door inset with glass. It would attach to the wood frame and allow customers to push or pull the door open. We are restoring a building and are trying to retain the building’s charm, thus the glass inset door. However, we don’t want people to push on the glass. Where can I find one of these bars? I’ve searched everywhere.

It is called a crash bar. Go to your local commercial building supply company and they can order one for you. In my area you would go to a place called Renter Lumber (Toledo, OH). In your area look for the place builders go.
Usually it is hollow steel tube and only coated with brass for strength.
