My Cigar Humidor seasoning help?
I just got my cigar humidor a day ago. help?
I have a very small travel humidor 15-20 cigar capacity
Well i calibrated my hydrometer yesterday – salt method 7 hours and it came out 75% double checked. I seasoned my humidor damped all the walls with wet towel yesterday. I left my hydrometer in there today for 3 hours and it came out at 70% I put my cigars in there already our am i going to fast? and wait 2 more days because my humidor is very very small.
And is the Spanish cedar wood inside suppose to be dry wet damped inside when my humidor is ready or is the hygrometer my answer for this?
There are many factors to weigh here. Now that your hygrometer is calibrated and you have seasoned the interior of the humidor it needs to sit a few days to stabilize. That being said you never mentioned any type of humidification device? You need to have one in there as well. Also the humidor should always be kept close to 75% full of cigars and the humidification device must be maintained regularly. The interior of the humidor should not be wet, the cedar absorbs the moisture and will be at most a little damp.
